SHKORPILOVTSI

Shkorpilovtsi is a village in northeastern Bulgaria. It is located 40 km south of Varna and 2 km from the sea. There is a resort area that is next to the sea. Shkorpilovtsi Beach was declared a protected area on December 4, 2007, its area is 5125.65 hectares.
Shkorpilovtsi is a quiet place for a summer vacation at sea, which combines a sea beach and mountain meadows. In the village there are many hotels and resorts. The resort has dining options, bars, a summer cinema, a surf and a kite school. The nature around the resort is characterized by its unique diversity and remoteness from other resorts and villages. The beach is the largest in Bulgaria - 12 km. The size of the beach provides a lot of unoccupied space, even at the peak of the season.
The coastline is straight, without a bay, which is a prerequisite for waves in northern and northeastern winds. The place is one of the best for surfing, windsurfing and kiting on our Black Sea coast. The Kamchia Sands Reserve is also nearby. Its name comes from the Scorpio research brothers. His old name is Fundakli. The name comes from the Turkish language and means Hazelnut Garden. Near the village there are remains of four ancient settlements. A late antique three-nave church with a mosaic floor, destroyed between 1917 and 1966, was discovered near a small fortress on the seashore.
