GOLDEN SANDS

Golden Sands (until June 29, 1942 Uzun Kum) is one of the three major Bulgarian seaside resorts, located in the northern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It is located in the municipality of Varna, 17 km from the center of Varna.
It is located at the foot of Golden Sands Nature Park, a protected area by law. The beach, covered with golden sand, is 3.5 km long and up to 100 m wide.
The area around the resort is unique with its plant species and coastal vegetation. It is designated as a Nature Park. The cultural and historical heritage of the park covers a wide period - from antiquity to the late Middle Ages.
